Celebrating Achievement Across Illinois: Blue Ribbon Recognition for K-12 Schools and Communitie

Jasculca Terman Strategic Communications was proud to support North Palos School District 117 with strategic communications counsel and event management services as they hosted a special gathering of state and education leaders on Friday, October 10.

During the event, District 117’s Glen Oaks Elementary School - along with 27 other schools across Illinois - was recognized as a 2025 Blue Ribbon School by Governor JB Pritzker and Illinois State Board of Education Chair Dr. Steven Isoye. For North Palos 117, this recognition is especially meaningful: every eligible school in the district has earned the Blue Ribbon distinction at least once, and this is the third honor for Glen Oaks Elementary.

Governor Pritzker also announced the launch of a new statewide Blue Ribbon Schools program, which will continue recognizing exemplary schools using the same criteria as the National Blue Ribbon program previously administered by the U.S. Department of Education.
