Rick has more than 35 years of experience in public relations and public affairs, serving as a senior strategist to some of the nation’s leading corporate executives and public officials. He has served during the past decade as lead White House advance for international economic summits, peace talks and numerous other domestic and overseas assignments.
Earlier in his career, Rick served as executive vice president of an independent public relations firm, where he supervised the professional staff as well as scores of national and international clients. While on a leave of absence from that firm, he served as Special Consultant to the White House during the Carter Administration. Rick was born and raised in Chicago, attending Chicago public schools and DePaul University. Rick is on the boards of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and the Cultural Center Foundation. |
 Jim Terman | President & CFO

In Jim’s three decades of experience in public affairs and public relations, he has developed a particular niche in crisis communications and issues management. He has served as senior strategist on a variety of issues to a host of corporate and public-sector leaders, and has a long track record of national and international successes in high-level advance and logistics projects. In addition to providing high-level strategic counsel to diverse clients, Jim also guides the financial and administrative side of JT.
An attorney by training, Jim partnered with Rick after serving as associate counsel to the Vice President in the Carter-Mondale Administration, and as an aide to former U.S. Senator Adlai Stevenson III. He has degrees from the University of Denver and the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Kent College of Law. |
With JT since 1985, Mary has directed hundreds of public affairs projects ranging from regulatory and environmental issues to healthcare to corporate initiatives. She has supervised many of the firms crisis management projects, conducts media and message training, and is a skilled strategic advisor and special events coordinator. Along with her client responsibilities, Mary manages many of the firm's internal operations, including working closely with account supervisors to help balance account loads, troubleshoot problems and brainstorm solutions. A mother of two, she has a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Miami University. |
 Bill Strong | Executive Vice President/Managing Director

Bill has more than 30 years of experience in public affairs as a strategic communications counselor and journalist. His responsibilities at JT include strategic and creative oversight of client projects, writing and editing, media relations, message/media training and crisis management. He has counseled senior executives in business, government and the not-for-profit arena during his 22 years at JT. Prior to joining JT, Bill spent 10 years as a reporter and editor for The Associated Press in New York, Boston and Springfield, Illinois, where he served as Statehouse bureau chief. Bill received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Harvard University. His outside interests include gardening, cooking and music. He is a founding member of the Business and Civic Council of Oak Park, Illinois. |
 Holly Bartecki | Senior Vice President, Creative & Strategic Development

Holly joined Jasculca/Terman and Associates after a 12-year career in the not-for-profit and higher education sector. At JT, Holly provides firm-wide client services including strategic counsel, message and media training, crisis management, major writing assignments, creative and strategy development, facilitation of focus groups and roundtables. She also coordinates the firm’s new business proposal development.
Holly’s writing and public relations campaign skills have won national and regional awards. A trained facilitator, she has coordinated retreats, training sessions and focus groups for groups from 10 to 100.
Holly received her bachelor’s degree in industrial relations from Northern Illinois University and her master’s degree in adult and continuing education from National-Louis University. Her civic involvement includes service as secretary and member of the board of directors for Childs Play Touring Theatre, an organization that promotes children’s literacy through theater, and as a member of the board of directors of the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois. |
 Andrew Jasculca | Vice President of Event Management

Andrew served as a freelance event specialist at Jasculca/Terman and Associates, Inc. before becoming event manager, where he now leads the firm’s events management division and oversees a team of event specialists. Andrew has served as Convention Hall lead advance for Senator Clinton during the 2004 Democratic Convention in Boston and also worked on several national projects, including the AFL-CIO "Show Us The Jobs" bus tour and Target Store Grand Openings.
Most recently, Andrew served as overall site and event lead for the President William J. Clinton Center Dedication. Andrew coordinated all event logistics for the grand opening and managed several events prior to the opening, demonstrating his ability to manage various groups of people, adapt to accommodate challenging situations, negotiate with vendors and implement a large-scale national event.
Andrew has extensive advance experience serving as media coordinator for Senator Clinton’s election night celebration in New York City; site lead for First Lady Hillary Clinton’s exploratory Senate committee kick-off bus tour; and as a member of both Presidential and First Lady advance teams during the Clinton Administration.
Prior to joining JT, Andrew worked at the Illinois Tollway Authority as a violation enforcement supervisor. Andrew also served as staff assistant in the Office of the Secretary of the U.S. Senate, where he helped coordinate the Continuity of Operations Plan.

 Marci May | Vice President, Account Supervisor

Since joining JT in 2001, Marci has managed public affairs, media outreach and communications campaigns for diverse corporate, public and non-profit clients. She helped Washington Mutual earn a wealth of electronic and print media coverage during its rapid expansion in the Chicago market and was instrumental in securing local and national media coverage for the AFL-CIO “Show Us The Jobs” Bus Tour in March 2004. Marci has also developed communications materials and Web sites for clients and organized a "whistle stop" train tour across Illinois for Governor Rod Blagojevich’s inauguration.
Prior to joining JT, Marci managed public affairs for Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago and was a senior project manager at The Sive Group, a Chicago public affairs agency. Marci holds a master’s degree in literature from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara. |
 Dan Regan | Vice President, Operations

Dan is responsible for managing the internal operations and communications among all departments at JT. It is a role he is well-suited for, given his career at JT has progressed through the ranks from intern through vice president. His experience helps him in working closely with account supervisors to help balance and prioritize account loads, troubleshoot problems and foster staff development.
Since joining Jasculca/Terman in 1992, Dan has played a key role in accounts ranging from retail, education, health care, tourism, transportation, labor and public policy issues. He has worked on regional and national media and events campaigns, as well as public policy issues throughout the Midwest. A lifelong Chicago-area resident and father of four, Dan received a bachelor’s degree in Communications from DePaul University in 1990. |
 Jennifer Solomon | Vice President, Account Supervisor

At JT, Jennifer has worked on a variety of projects to guide communications efforts for a diverse group of governmental, non-profit and corporate clients. Her work includes developing and implementing public outreach and awareness campaigns, building coalitions to advocate for public policy changes, writing publications and communications materials, conducting media outreach and coordinating events.
Jennifer joined JT in July 1998 after receiving a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. |
 Jennifer Hutchison | Account SupervisorJennifer joined JT in August 2002 as an intern and has risen through the ranks to the position of account supervisor. During her six years at JT she has worked on a variety of public affairs projects for education, health care, real estate, and environmental clients in the corporate and non-profit sectors. She has focused in particular on media relations, coalition building, materials development, grassroots outreach and event management support.
Jennifer was a key member of the JT team that won a Golden Trumpet from the Publicity Club of Chicago for her work on “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” a public art project promoting simple everyday solutions to global warming. JT was also awarded the prestigious Platinum Award for best overall public relations program by Publicity Club of Chicago for its work on the Cool Globes project.
Jennifer graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications. |
Febie Cabanlit | Director of Accounting Febie joined JT in 1996, and has handled cash flow management, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial statement analysis, and also oversees accounts payable and payroll processing. She also gives orientation sessions to new employees, and administers the company’s health, dental and 401k plans. She was instrumental in the department’s conversion from a manual to a computerized accounting system.
She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of San Carlos in the Philippines. She has CPA licenses from the Philippines and Illinois, and recently completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration at Keller Graduate School of Management. She has 10 years of experience in accounting and auditing, two of which were spent with an associate firm of Arthur Andersen. |
Lauren Jasculca Foley | Director, Video and Stage Production
Lauren joined Jasculca/Terman and Associates, Inc (JT) in 2004 as an account executive. She returned to JT as associate director of operations in 2006, after serving for one year as associate director of marketing communications at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
At JT, Lauren has worked on a variety of projects with both public and private sector clients. For the AFL-CIO’s 2003 Democratic Presidential Forum at Navy Pier in Chicago, she managed stage logistics for all presidential candidates and produced the event, which was broadcast live on C-SPAN. In 2004, Lauren served as the operations manager of credentials for the Democratic National Convention Committee in Boston. In this role she helped create a database for the credentialing system and oversaw database data entry and management, as well as distribution. As stage manager/producer for the grand opening of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, Lauren produced and managed both the pre- and main program for the ceremony. She coordinated and managed more than 400 performers (including U2’s Bono and the Edge), as well as all participating delegates, scripted both shows and worked with a production company on the live broadcast. In January 2007, Lauren was stage manager/producer for Illinois Governor Rod R. Blagojevich’s inauguration. She wrote the run of show and directed all performers, constitutional officers and delegates at the ceremony. In February 2007, JT provided advance and event management services to support an 11-day, four-country Africa trip to highlight the Carter Center’s 25-year history of pursuing an aggressive health care agenda and promoting human rights, conflict resolution and honest elections in Ghana, Sudan, Ethiopia and Nigeria. Lauren was the lead in Ethiopia, coordinateing all site, hotel and motorcade logistics for the 14-person delegation. Lauren has served as the stage manager/producer for After School Matters’ Annual Gala since 2004. Most recently, she produced the organization’s new annual event, CityWide Showcase, which involved working with more than 200 teens from the Chicago Public Schools to write and produce a live show. Lauren graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and electronic communications. |
Yesenia Sotelo | Director of New Media

Yesenia joined JT from the Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights, where she served as Manager of Interactive and New Media for the Chicago-based not-for-profit. She previously served as Director of Technology and Membership for the ACLU of Illinois, managing the organization's online strategy and communications.
As director of JT's new media practice, she heads a team that works with clients to incorporate digital tools and tactics such as websites and social networking platforms into their overall communications campaigns.
Yesenia earned a B.A. in Political Science from Northwestern University, with a concentration in Latin American political economics. She is active in Chicago's new media community and maintains strong connections with other digital strategists across the country. She also serves as the executive co-chair for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Chicago. |

Ryan Kish | Art Director
Ryan joined Jasculca/Terman and Associates, Inc. (JT) in 2003. As Art director, Ryan leads a team of designers that are responsible developing strategic visual solutions, designed to differentiate our clients and interact with and motivate target audiences. Ryan has created online and offline visual communication strategies for corporate, public and non-profit clients.
On behalf of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Ryan designed and developed a 10-map system for all forest preserves across the county, including one county-wide general information map/brochure and nine regional maps detailing natural areas and activities. Ryan also created the visual identity for the Forest Preserve’s “Live Healthy, Discover Nature” campaign -- a campaign designed to promote the forest preserves as a valuable resource and encouraging people to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exploring nature found within the preserves. Ryan received the Gold Winner award in the 2007 UB the Judge juried design competition for this series of maps.
Ryan received BFA degrees in graphic design and printmaking from Ohio University in 2002. During his senior year, Ryan oversaw the design and implementation of a new institutional identity, including redesigned logo, marketing collateral and Web site for the Ohio University School of Art.
Prior to joining JT, Ryan worked as a freelance graphic designer providing visual identity development, Web site design and animation services for nonprofit and corporate clients, including an Atlanta-based technology and logistics consulting firm and a Chicago-based apparel company. |
 Jessica Thunberg | Director, Creative and Strategic DevelopmentJessica joined Jasculca/Terman and Associates, Inc. (JT) in May 2003 after three consecutive summers as a JT account assistant. Since joining the firm, she has worked on a wide range of public affairs and communications projects, providing strategic counsel, direct outreach, media relations and event management support to clients.
On behalf of “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet,” a public art project designed to highlight simple solutions to global warming, Jessica served as project manager for the exhibit’s national tour to Washington, D.C., San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles. In 2007, Jessica served on the media relations team for the project when it debuted in Chicago. JT was awarded the prestigious Platinum Award for best overall public relations program by Publicity Club of Chicago for its work on Cool Globes in Chicago.
Jessica is also a core member of the JT team serving our firm's school district clients. In this role, she provides communications and media relations support during labor negotiations, referendums, and employee and student misconduct issues.
Additionally, Jessica serves on the firm’s creative and strategic development team, working on new business development.
